Stylist Mary Alice Stephenson said the potential first ladies are channeling former first lady Jackie O. by wearing pearls that have ranged from large white to earth-tone South Sea and multi-colored.
Accessories Director Rae Ann Herman believes McCain and Obama are simply taking their cue from the runway. Image Consultant Ginger Burr feels pearls are a plus for McCain, but prefers a less traditional look for Obama--such as a strand of black beads.
